The Care for Disabled Veterans Mission Statement:
Our mission is to make it possible for disabled American veterans to receive Independent Medical Examinations in order to receive fair and unbiased evaluations of their service-connected disabilities. We do this so they can get a fair chance at the benefits they so desperately need and deserve for their service to our country.
Learn More About Veterans' Requirements in a Disability Claim
Disabled American veterans who have suffered service-related injuries or illnesses and who were honorably discharged from the military are entitled to certain benefits from the federal government. Getting those benefits, however, is no easy feat. It has been estimated that 80% to 85% of veterans disability benefits claims are unsuccessful. Why do so many disabled veterans go without the medical care and financial stipends that should be free for veterans after their sacrifice for their nation?
Simply put, while the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) certainly does care about veterans and their service to the United States, it is a government agency, and because of that, it must follow a set of stringent rules that often go against the needs of disabled veterans.
This is where Care for Disabled Veterans comes in: We understand that the single most important component of a successful veterans disability claim is having the corroborating medical evidence to prove an injury or illness is service-connected, and, therefore, eligible for benefits. Unfortunately, many disabled American veterans do not have the means to pay for an Independent Medical Examination, and they must rely on VA-provided physicians. Needless to say, these exams do not offer a level playing field for the former service member.
At Care for Disabled Veterans, we believe that any man or woman who has served our country deserves a fair and unbiased chance at the benefits he or she has earned through service. We do this by connecting qualified veterans with no-cost IMEs.
