Our veteran stories reveal that the definition of a veteran goes far beyond “one with experience.” Read these veterans’ stories to learn more about the heroes we help.

The veteran stories you will find on the Care for Disabled Veterans website show us what life is really like for the typical disabled American veteran -- the challenges, hopes, sacrifices and unique needs of our everyday heroes.

If you are interested in contributing to the Care for Disabled Veterans mission, we encourage you to read these veterans' stories to learn about those who you will be helping with your generosity and advocacy.

These honest, heartfelt veterans' stories also show us something about the true definition of a veteran. Each man or woman is more than simply "someone with extensive experience." As these narratives reveal, the men and women who served in the Armed Forces are a diverse group of individuals whose hard work and sacrifice have not only protected our freedoms as Americans, but also in some cases, contributed to long-term emotional and physical scars.

Who You Will Meet When Reading Our Veteran Stories

As our success grows, Care for Disabled Veterans will continue to share new veterans' stories with our network of donors, caregivers, physicians and veterans. We will introduce you to disabled veterans who are in the process of filing for veterans disability benefits and who need our help in securing free Independent Medical Examinations.
